I didn’t plan to write a second part, but something my mom said the other day when we were talking about our soldiers overseas reminded me of something I had forgotten—yet it is very important.

Although our soldiers are in a dangerous place, the fact remains that they are every bit as much in His care over in Iraq as they would be here in America. When you really stop and think about it, God is every bit as capable of protecting them there as He is able to protect them here. And how could it be otherwise? For if He were less able to protect them overseas, than He would be a very small God indeed.

This is not at all to say that we should not pray for them! We should. But we should also remember that the same care that watches over them when they are at home and we pray for their protection is likewise watching over them over there.

He watching over Israel slumbers not, nor sleeps…

And “He watching over Israel” is the one and the same one watching over our soldiers. So let’s keep them in our prayers when they are over there—and when they come home too.
